In Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp - Day 3 to Day 5 Highlights


 From forgotten scripts to timeless Sanskrit greetings and powerful Limboo storytelling, Days 3, 4, and 5 of our Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp were a whirlwind of language, culture, and creativity. Here’s a look at how our students deepened their appreciation for India’s linguistic wealth.


📅 Day 3 – Discovering the Bhujel Language

Celebrating lesser‑known indigenous tongues


 

Focus: Bhujel Alphabet & Rhymes

  • Alphabet Adventure: Students learned the unique Bhujel script and its distinct pronunciation patterns.
  • Musical Learning: Lively, alphabetical rhymes set to traditional tunes helped cement the new letters in everyone’s memory.
  • Take‑away: Curiosity soared as learners realized how every script carries a piece of India’s cultural mosaic.

📅 Day 4 – Conversing in Classical Sanskrit

Bringing ancient elegance to modern life


 

Focus: Basic Greetings & Local Food Names in Sanskrit


  • Greetings with Grace: Students joyfully practiced phrases like “Namaste,” “Śubhaprabhātam,” and “Katham asti bhavan/bhavati?”

  • Tasty Vocabulary: Local favorites got Sanskrit makeovers—
  • Idli → Mṛṣṭānnam
  • Dosa → Sūpapattikā
  • Vada → Vaḍakam
  • Mango → Āmraphalam
  • Tea → Surabhi‑pānakam

  • Creative Sentences: Children eagerly wove these new words into their own Sanskrit lines—proof that ancient language can feel fresh and fun.



📅 Day 5 – Limboo Storytelling & Cultural Pride

Theme: Culture Appreciation & Stories of National Heroes


 

  • Keynote: Mr. Sancha Bir Subba (PRT, Limboo) highlighted storytelling as the heartbeat of language preservation.

  • Student Spotlights:
  • Shamiksha Subba (VII) “Operation Sindoor” (fictional heroism) → English by Pallabi Subba.
  • Prashansha Subba (VIII)“The Mountain Roared” (Capt. Vikram Batra’s valor) → English by Bhawana Subba.
  • Archana Subba“The Paintbrush Patriot” (local artist’s legacy) → English by Mahesh Subba.
  • Multimedia Tribute: Videos on Limboo scholar B.B. Muringla with teacher‑voiced narration.
  • Cultural Atmosphere: Limboo patriotic songs, traditional prayers, and a photo gallery of language champions filled the venue with pride.

Across three inspiring sessions, students:

  • Discovered scripts and sounds they’d never seen before.
  • Bridged ancient knowledge to everyday conversations.
  • Honored local heroes who keep languages alive.
