Namphing Secondary School, nestled in the serene hills of South Sikkim, proudly celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2025 with spirited participation from students of all classes, teaching and non-teaching staff, and the school leadership team.
This year’s celebration was led by our esteemed Headmaster Shri Bala Ram Subba and AHM Shri T.R. Dahal, whose guidance and inspiration brought life to a meaningful day filled with action, awareness, and commitment toward environmental sustainability.
🌱 Cleanliness Drive
The day began with a Cleanliness Drive, where students and staff came together to clean the school premises and nearby surroundings. Armed with brooms, gloves, and garbage bags, the activity encouraged a strong message of hygiene, responsibility, and care for one’s environment.
🌳 Plantation Drive
A Plantation Drive followed, where students and teachers planted a variety of saplings, including fruit-bearing trees and flowering plants across the school campus. Many students enthusiastically brought organic manure and cow dung from home to nurture the soil—demonstrating their personal commitment to the cause.
💚 Our Commitment
The event was more than just a celebration—it was a reminder that every small action counts. Through these thoughtful activities, Namphing Secondary School reaffirmed its dedication to environmental protection, ecological awareness, and community engagement.
We believe that educating the youth about sustainability and climate responsibility is key to building a greener, healthier world.
